As the Dean of the CDC, I am privileged to lead our dedicated efforts in enhancing the quality and accessibility of higher education across our affiliated colleges. The CDC plays a pivotal role in bridging the university with its affiliated institutions, ensuring the effective implementation of development plans aimed at fostering academic excellence and institutional growth.

We envision a collaborative and progressive educational environment where affiliated colleges are empowered to deliver high-quality education that meets the dynamic needs of students and society. Through continuous development and adherence to best practices, we strive to contribute significantly to the academic and infrastructural advancement of our affiliated institutions.

The primary mission of the CDC is to facilitate the effective implementation of development plans at the university level, focusing on the quality improvement of colleges and other affiliated institutions. In response to the exponential growth of the Indian higher education system, characterized by an increasing number of affiliated colleges, innovative teaching and learning methods, and evolving pedagogical perspectives, the CDC has become a vital force in shaping collegiate education policies. Our objectives align with the national education policy 2020, aiming to provide inclusive and quality education to all students.

Our council undertakes several critical functions to support the development of affiliated colleges:

  • Affiliation Management: We oversee the inclusion of colleges under the 2(f) & 12(B) Act of the University Grants Commission (UGC), manage the affiliation of new colleges, and handle the continuation and granting of permanent affiliation to existing colleges. This also includes permitting new programs and managing the increase of seats.
  • Quality Enhancement: We assist the university's administrative and academic bodies, such as the Syndicate and Academic Council, in framing rules related to admissions to various undergraduate and postgraduate programs, determining grace marks in various categories, and fixing fees.
  • Capacity Building: We conduct interface meetings and faculty development programs to sensitize college faculties and managements about funding avenues and agencies. Additionally, we focus on raising awareness about new trends in higher education through consultation and awareness programs.
  • Regulatory Oversight: We regulate and collect fees levied from colleges, ensuring transparency and accountability in financial matters.

Invitation to Engage

We invite all stakeholders—students, faculty, and administrators—to engage with the CDC as we work together to shape the future of higher education in the region. Your feedback, suggestions, and active participation are invaluable as we continue our journey towards excellence.
